Entering Insurance Quotation Values into the Projections

Insurance policy details for Whole Life and Universal Life policies will likely change over time. To simplify the process of entering the information into your Snap Projections scenario, we have given you the ability to copy and paste directly from an Excel version of the insurance quotation or illustration.

Click Edit under the Death Benefit or Premium column under Scenario Setup -> Insurance Policies to open the table to enter details for every year of the permanent life insurance policy.

To enter insurance information you have 2 options:

  1. Typing in the information.
  2. Copying and pasting from an Excel spreadsheet.
1

Type in the information.

Click the $0 in the appropriate column and type over it to make the update.

You can continue to enter the values for each year manually to match an insurance illustration, or you can copy the figures down to a certain year in the projections.  Click the pencil icon to the left of the value you have already entered, and a pop-up window will appear.  Enter the year to copy down until, and the indexing percentage.

NOTE: In the above screenshot, if you leave the year blank and click Copy, it will copy those values down to the final year. It will also assume 0% indexing if you leave that blank as well.

Copying and pasting from an Excel spreadsheet

If you have the insurance illustration in Excel format, you can copy the required columns and paste them directly into Snap Projections.

Detailed steps follow.

You can copy an entire column from Excel to Snap Projections. Highlight the values to copy, right-click with your mouse and choose copy. In the appropriate insurance column, right-click on the first cell to copy into and click paste.

After pasting, the column values will be filled in.
