How to enter a joint life insurance policy

For all insurance policies in Snap, you'll notice the options for the insured person include the client or the spouse, but there is no joint option. For joint policies, you'll want to select the insured person based on your projections. Is one of the spouses projected to die earlier than the other within your projections?

In the projections, the insured person will pay for the insurance premiums, and the insurance details such as the Death Benefit and CSV will be displayed on their Planning page.

You can edit the end date of the projections for either spouse under Scenario Setup -> General. On the Combined Planning page, you can see the age of each spouse by the end of that year. If you see a dash, their projections have ended.

If both spouses' projections end in the same year, you can select either spouse as the insured party.

If this is a joint last-to-die policy, set the insured person to the longest-living spouse in your projections.

If this is a joint first-to-die policy, set the insured person as the spouse whose projections end first.
